Throughout the last year we’ve been working on some exciting direct generation technology alongside electrostatic generation experts, Cheros Srl (primarily Giacomo Moretti and Marco Fontana). The work we’ve completed has aimed to identify the potential this technology has to reduce the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) of wave energy conversion.
Recently we’ve had a double boost; firstly being awarded a follow on project by Wave Energy Scotland to investigate the enabling technology required to allow DG technology to be commercialised, and secondly our team has won an $80k prize awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as part of their InDEEP programme.
